PS4 announced! Discussion and thought.

PS4 was announced today. I thought it looked pretty impressive wasn't surprised by a new Infamous or Killzone, but Destiny looks cool.

No but seriously unless those "discs will only work on one person's console and no one else's" rumors are squashed and the thing is backwards compatible, my money's elsewhere.

I honestly dont give two shits about the disc thing, Infamous was my favorite part about it. controller was icky.

I don't mind if it's not backwards compatible since most PS3s will last long enough to get a good amount of gaming in on them. The two things that will make me not buy it are 1: if the games cannot be resold or re-installed, and 2: if it has to be connected to the internet to work.

I doubt it would require you to use the internet to work, but if thats true than yeah I wont get it. My internet cuts out alot so that would be a problem

Well the disc thing isn't true, we have yet to hear about the internet connection which I thought was a rumor only for the Xbox 420.

I heard that the disk thing isn't true as well. It was also originally just a rumor for the new XBox but once that became a rumor people were all "what if it's true for the PS4 toooooo?" so now I am expecting it to be true until proven otherwise. It being true won't necessarily keep me from getting onem but it would certainly make me think twice.

The disk thing was something that Sony patented. But they have hundreds of patents they don't use, so it could just be another thing that they patented and won't use.

Yeah, the disk thing originated with Sony. I'm glad that it (probably) isn't true.
