Goodra ended up being a slight disappointment
Not by much though. He's the psuedo-legend of Gen VI and I'm cool with that. He looks really cuddly and friendly like Dragonite and Dragonite's pretty bro. And it's even based on a slug and that's pretty awesome considering there is an animal known as a dragon slug. The problem lies in the fact that it hardly resembles the animal it's based off of:
This is Glaucus Atlanticus and goes by various other names including the blue dragon sea slug. This motherfucker is so ballin' that it eats those asshole Portuguese Man 'o War for breakfast. Goomy and Sliggoo are fine but seeing the animal that they're based off of I was hoping for Goodra to flip a table and go "lolnope" and look drastically different like how Dragonite did with Dragonair.
Goodra also seems to be based off of French folklore of a Lou Carcolh which is some nightmare snail dragon that rests underground and snares its victims in several mile long tendrils that extend from its mouth and drags it back to swallow it whole. Pretty cool. And it's also seems to draw inspiration of a Japanese monster called Shussebora, also referred to as "acsended trumpet shell" and goes that if a trumpet snail lives 1000 years each on the mountain, plains and sea (a total of 3000 years) it will ascend and become a dragon. Also pretty cool. Goodra's still pretty awesome but going in blind with only knowing about its prevos and what it was based on I had my expectations for it to look a little different.I'm still going to get 12 of these and rule Kalos with an iron fist

Also Goodra has good special defense, special attack, and HP, but it learns nothing to make use of those stats. It does get Curse as an Egg move so I guess you can use it as a physical attacker, but it doesn't even get Recover! And it's a goo!

What about Sludge Bomb and Sludge Wave? Sp.Atk poison moves to say fuck you to fairies? That's kinda worth something, right?

Yeah, but it's speed and Defense are so low it needs something to boost its stats so it can actually do something. Most of the Fairy types kind of suck so you won't run into them that often outside of Togekiss, Florges, and Sylveon. I'm sure it will see competitive play, but it won't see as much usage as other special dragons like Dragalge and Hydreigon (Dragalge gets Adaptability in the Dream World).
